That’s why they call it fishing...

Sometimes this pursuit is about numbers. Sometimes it’s about the company of others, and almost always it’s about being outside and just being present. This afternoon I spent some time on my home waters. I’d finished my own personal small net and was looking forward to getting some action photos and initiating the net with a nice Bow River trout. Such as it was, there were a few rising around but I couldn’t unlock the puzzle. But it was great to have a few smiles in the sunshine and see some bald eagles, trout rising and even the first appearance of stone flies.

And that’s why they don’t call it catching!
